We become painters through a soul experience of the world of colour, through learning to live with the colours, feeling what each individual colour tries to convey.– Rudolf Steiner, The Arts and Their Mission, GA 276
Experience the therapeutic qualities of artistic expression.
Painting is all about relationship, how the colours and forms interact. Contrast and similarity, harmony and dissonance, tension and resolution, clarity and softness, foreground and background, expectation or surprise, strong boundaries or blending: all of these polarities are at work in both artistic and everyday human relationships.
For the first term, each week we will explore a specific artistic dynamic in a way that will not only improve our artistic skills but also help us understand ourselves and our relationships better.
